About.
Grace Burgess is a songwriter, poet, musician, dancer, and creator who lends support to all areas of the arts. Growing up in Arlington, Virginia, she studied cello performance for 10 years under the private direction of Samantha Hegre and Amy Domingues, playing in school and honors orchestras throughout her childhood.
In high school, she was recognized for her talent in poetry recitation and performance through participation in the national Poetry Out Loud competition and various poetry slams and open mics in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She had several poems published in youth poetry anthologies and literary journals. She fell equally in love with the theatre arts during her high school years, performing in Guys & Dolls, Hairspray, Macbeth, and other iconic plays.
In 2016, Grace relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to study Songwriting at Belmont University. She describes her personal sound as "Rascal Flatts meets Sara Bareilles" -- a gentle mix of country, pop, and acoustic singer-songwriter. Her other major musical influences include Hunter Hayes, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Green Day, Michael Jackson, X Ambassadors, and Martina McBride.
As a lyricist primarily, Grace enjoys collaborating with vocalists to help tell their stories.
